The University of Kragujevac visited by the president of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts

The meeting was held at the Rectorate of the University of Kragujevac on August 01, 2018. Present at the meeting were: prof. Nenad Filipović, PhD, Acting Rector of the University of Kragujevac, prof. Miroslava Petrović Torgašev, PhD, Vice-Rector for Science, prof. Živadin Micić, PhD, Vice-Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Academician Vladimir Kostić, SASA President, Academician Ljubomir Maksimović, SASA Vice-President in charge of Social Sciences and Humanities, Academician Zoran Popović, SASA Vice-President in charge of Natural Sciences, and academicians from Kragujevac: Academician Ivan Gutman, SASA and University of Kragujevac Center for Scientific Research Director, Miloš Djuran, SASA corresponding member, and Miloš Kojić, SASA corresponding member.

Topics of the meeting were the renewal of cooperation between SASA and the University of Kragujevac, affirmation of the SASA and University of Kragujevac Center for Scientific Research, whose work was interrupted three years ago, as well as ways of intensifying mutual cooperation in all segments of work in the field of science and arts. Such cooperation would include the involvement of scientists and associates of the University of Kragujevac in the SASA committees, an organization of joint scientific meetings or participation in scientific assemblies, arranging lectures, organizing art exhibitions or concerts, publishing activities and other forms of cooperation.

Also, SASA suggested its intentions to expand the Center for Scientific Research in Kragujevac into the SASA branch in the period from three to six years.

In the second part of the visit, the SASA president, together with the vice-presidents, accompanied by the hosts from Kragujevac, visited the building Legacy of the academician Nikola Koka Jankovic, in which SASA and University of Kragujevac Center for Scientific Research will be located.
