University of Kragujevac Successfully Hosts the 8th International Week

This year’s event, titled “AI Integration & Digital Innovation in Higher Education,” focused on the role of artificial intelligence in higher education, with particular attention to internationalization, the modernization of teaching and study programs, and the integration of AI into administrative processes. Through lectures, panel discussions, and institutional presentations, participants shared experiences and jointly explored both the challenges and opportunities brought by the rapid development of AI in academia.

At the official opening, participants were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Predrag Đurđević, Head of the Department for International Cooperation and Project Implementation Monitoring, Olivera Mijatović, and a representative of the national agency Tempus Foundation, Ivana Balšić. The panel sessions were opened by Assist. Prof. Dr. Nikola Milosavljević, a member of the Academic_AI_25 project team, with a lecture on the legal framework for artificial intelligence. On the same day, in cooperation with the Center for Serbian as a Foreign Language, Prof. Mirjana Obradović delivered an intensive Serbian language course.

On the second day, the event was hosted by the Faculty of Hotel Management and Tourism in Vrnjačka Banja. Participants were welcomed by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Senić, and Erasmus Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Andrej Mićović. During the panel session, representatives of partner institutions presented examples of good practice in applying artificial intelligence at their universities. The day also included a guided tour of Vrnjačka Banja.

On Wednesday, participants joined sessions of the Fifth Serbian International Conference on Applied Artificial Intelligence (AAI2026), while Thursday was dedicated to the topic of artificial intelligence in academic writing, presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Branka Milenković from the Faculty of Philology and Arts. The same day also featured the ceremonial celebration of the University of Kragujevac’s 50th anniversary.

The event concluded with a formal certificate awarding ceremony held at the Turkish Corner of the Faculty of Law.
