The concert “A Gift from the University” marks the golden jubilee

Following the ceremonial closing of the 40th Rector’s Cup of the University of Kragujevac, participants and guests had the opportunity to attend the gala concert A Gift from the University, organized to mark the 50th anniversary of the University of Kragujevac.

The concert was the University’s gift to the city of Kragujevac. It was an evening during which music, emotion, and a sense of togetherness merged into a unique whole, celebrating half a century of an institution that has produced generations of professionals, artists, and professors.

The program brought together performers of different generations and musical backgrounds, ranging from the academic to the contemporary music scene, thus creating a dynamic and rich experience.

The program was opened by the Orchestra and Choir of the Faculty of Education in Jagodina, performing under Milica Stanković and Jelena Grkić Ginić. Their performance was marked by harmony, youthful energy, and their typical interaction with the audience. The clear vocal-instrumental synergy between the choir and the orchestra stood out, drawing the audience into the remainder of the program.

The program continued with a performance by Uroš Adamović and Echo Ensemble, who brought a contemporary musical expression, strong rhythmic energy, and a distinctive rapport with the audience. Their performance was characterized by improvisational freedom and a fusion of diverse musical influences, further enriching the program.

A special segment of the evening belonged to Danica Krstić and Vlatko Stefanovski, accompanied by the Kragujevac Academic Accordion Orchestra. With her distinctive vocal expression, Danica Krstić brought deep emotion to the performance, while Vlatko Stefanovski added his signature flair with his guitar. Together with the Kragujevac Academic Accordion Orchestra, this part of the concert became one of the most moving moments of the evening. The ensemble performed under the baton of Predrag Kostović, whose musical precision and expressiveness contributed to an outstanding stage presence and the ensemble’s cohesion. The audience enjoyed a unique blend of traditional, classical, and well-known musical compositions.

The entire concert brought together different generations of artists, conveying a clear message that, throughout its 50 years of existence, the University of Kragujevac has not only been an educational institution but also an important contributor to cultural and artistic life.
